HopeBuilders got it’s start back in 2018 when the Pathfinder organization partnered with Adventist Community Services to pack “Flood buckets” for a service project at a weekend event. The five gallon buckets were filled with supplies a family would need to clean up their home after a flood. The plan was to ship the filled buckets to Texas in preparation for hurricane season. But, only days after the buckets were filled and delivered to a warehouse, floods hit our home region in the Inland Northwest. Every bucket went to a family in our own region! We were hooked! After that, both organizations continued to look for additional ways that we could partner in harnessing the enthusiasm of young people to meet needs in our communities.
